Data Protection 

Light Oaks Junior School is fully committed to compliance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998.

We will therefore follow procedures which aim to ensure that all employees who have access to any personal data held by or on behalf of River View Primary School, are fully aware of and abide by their duties under the Data Protection Act 1998.

Data Protection and Privacy Notice.

New Data Protection rules came into force in April 2018 (GDPR). The policy and privacy statement attached explains how school handles sensitive data and parents’ rights regarding access to this information.

Freedom of Information  & Subject Access Requests

A Subject Access Request (SAR) allows individuals to access personal data held about them (or a child they have parental responsibility for).  We will reply within one calendar month.

A Freedom of Information (FOI) request allows anyone to access non-personal information held by public authorities. We will reply within 20 working days.

These will be provided free of charge, unless the request is very large or difficult to obtain, in which case there may be an administration charge.
