Our Awards

Emotionally Friendly Schools

We are the first school in the country have been awarded the Emotionally Friendly Schools' Silver Award,and we are now an ambassador for this initiative across the Local Authority and further afield. We work hard to ensure that we look after the mental health and wellbeing of all our pupils, staff and other members of our school community and we teach children how to stay mentally fit, including teaching them the skills of resilience and grit.  We are currently working towards achieving our Gold Award by developing our social, Emotional and Mental Health offer, by supporting our staff and pupils to stay mentally healthy and by looking at how Social and Emotional Learning can be improved in school.

Platinum School Games Mark

We are very proud to have been awarded the highest level in the school games awards last year.  We have a long-standing reputation for being an outstanding sports school and we promote sport and staying active consistently throughout the school, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to represent school in inter-school competitions and holding many in-school sports events as well.  Our sport team, headed up by Mrs Waddington and Mr Walker, with the help of our Sports Crew work hard both in the school and across the region, to ensure our PE provision is exciting, fun and reaches all of our pupils.  

Heart Safe

We are a Heart Safe School: we have had a defibrillator on site since 2012, and we continue to provide annual training for both adults and pupils in CPR and first aid, for which we were named HeartStart Educational Establishment of the Year 2014.

UNICEF Silver: Rights Aware

Our children are taught about the UNICEF Rights of the Child and all classes have a class rights charter.  We link the rights to our learning and talk about them in the context of behaviour and personal development.

MAPAS Recognition

We have been recognised for our commitment to music provision by Salford's Music and Performing Arts Service.
